Editing the Trailer: Color
My approach to color correction focused on creating a restrained, introspective atmosphere that would reinforce the trailer's themes of urban isolation and emotional distance.
I built the trailer around a cool, desaturated palette dominated by blues, cyans, and muted teals. Warm tones, while present, were deliberately desaturated and controlled to prevent them from overwhelming the cooler base. This created an emotionally neutral foundation that felt introspective rather than inviting.
Using Premiere Pro's Lumetri Color panel, I reduced the global saturation a bit below a natural level without making the image monochrome. The colors appear restrained and somewhat washed, which contributed to the sense of emotional exhaustion I wanted to convey.
