Editing the Trailer: Sound, Music and Dialogue

The music and sound design are intentionally minimal and restrained, focusing on atmosphere rather than melody. Instead of using a loud or catchy track, the sound slowly builds with soft, pounding tones that support the emotional weight of the visuals without overpowering them. This gradual build helps maintain tension throughout the trailer and keeps the viewer emotionally engaged.

The background drone is inspired by the sound design of trailers like Gone Girl, layering an atmospheric texture with a single sustained note. This creates a constant sense of unease and subtly reinforces the themes of surveillance and tension present in the story.

Having very little dialogue in the trailer was a deliberate creative choice. By minimizing spoken lines, the focus shifts to the girl’s internal experience, emphasizing her isolation and making the audience feel as if they are stepping inside her mind. This approach allows the dread and loneliness to be felt rather than explained. It also makes the trailer more intriguing, encouraging viewers to speculate about the plot and draw their own conclusions from what they see and hear.

For the female narrator’s voice, ElevenLabs was used to design the narration. In this case, an AI generated voice was preferred over a real recording because it provides a consistent, professional tone. The slightly artificial quality of the voice also adds a subtle sense of mystery.
