For the advanced media studies project, I produced a film trailer for a fictional film titled Where the City Hides Us, accompanied by a promotional Instagram page and a documentative blog. This critical reflection evaluates how effectively my products achieve these aims. One of the central focuses of my trailer is the representation of youth, particularly teenagers and young adults navigating identity, relationships, and emotional complexity within an urban environment. Rather than relying on stereotypical portrayals often seen in mainstream media, I aimed to construct a more nuanced and realistic representation. The characters are not exaggerated or idealized but instead they are presented through subtle emotional cues such as body language, facial expressions, and fragmented interactions.
